You are turning two years old today! It’s hard to believe. You are such a big spark to our family. It has been so much fun watching your little personality develop and seeing more of what you look like and who you are. You were a small baby and my labour with you (as a 2nd child) was fairly easy. You weighed 6lbs 6oz and I only had to push for 4 minutes to see your chubby blue face. I was able to catch and hold you straight away and I fell in love with you instantly. You got your first tooth when you were 10 months old (which seemed late enough) although the rest came quickly and horribly! You took your first steps in December 2013 in Australia with Nana and Grandad there for moral support. However you didnt really walk until February 2014 at a birthday party in the Marina in Dubai. You’re first word (besides NO) was “Mimi” which is our family dog Minnie’s name according to you.
The past year you began talking, running and developing affections for certain people aside from your immediate family. You don’t really like hugging unless its on your own accord. Your favourite words have been; Rosie, Mimi, chocate, ishka (water in irish), bless you, barmey (the way you call for the purple dino that we are all sick of) and my favourite La You. You love to pretend you are asleep, we think because you love snoring. You also know the Peppa Pig intro off by heart and snort where the snorts are needed.
You have now lived in Dubai for most of your life and you really are a Dubai kid! You are tanned and love the sunshine and are the biggest water baby. It amazes us that at 18months you didnt need armbands or a loop anymore. We shouldn’t have been so surprised though- you amaze us everyday with something new.
Your TV Loves are Minnie Mouse, Peppa Pig, Mr Tumble, Dora and Doc Mcstuffins. Your favourite movie is The Princess and the Frog and you know all the songs and actions. You are always singing “I love you, a bushell and a peck or ABC’s and you love to count to 15. You wake up every morning calling for Katie and Chloe (we have realised now that you cant say Chloe’s brother Archie’s name) so by saying his mammy it means he will be there too.
You love to eat and our biggest challenge is getting vegetables into you (we are forever hiding them). We are thankful that you love juice and would drink spinnach and apple juice all day long. You love “Chip-N-Amix” which is code for chicken and chips. You also love Olives and Hummus which is great for your Mammy who loves them too. You have discovered the word “Chocate” which is every Mammy’s nightmare I am sure. Not just for the mess factor but the fact that it wouldn’t be the best food group for you.
Your favourite thing in the world is Rumples your teddy (who you call Fuffles) and by golly we have nearly lost him atleast 5 times in Dubai alone (not to mention times in Eire or Australia). Mammy gets a little emotional everytime it is “missing” also as it was mine back in the “olden days” as your sister Cadhla-Rose tells me. So please try and keep him safe!!
You love to dress up and you love to look pretty. You love to look at yourself in the mirror as soon as your dressed and your face lights up as soon as we say “ooo whos a pretty girl”. I can remember times in this past year when looking at you literally took my breath away.
You love your big sister. Littlelove Cadhla-Rose adores you to and to be honest you are so lucky to have a sister that worships everything you do. She is your biggest fan and is always there to help you and laugh at your jokes (that mammy and daddy) sometimes dont get quite yet!
I can’t believe you are T W O. Today we are celebrating your birthday. A celebration of the passing of a difficult year and the welcoming of a new one. You change so much every day. Milestones that challenge me, growth that scares and excites me but will help me to understand you as a littlelove better.
My littlelove Aoibhie-Faith. She is as stubborn as they come. Passion flows through her and through everything she does. She is strong willed, beautiful, compassionate, clever and full of spunk. We love her frowns and giggles, gappy teeth and will always feel blessed that God sent her to us.
Love you lots ya Nutter – Your Mammy xxx
I have at least 600 photos for you to look at when your big!!
