To Mylittlelove Cadhla-Rose,
These are some of my favourite memories of you growing up. It’s getting hard to keep track of them all so i decided to do a list of our “Top Crazy’s” (things you said and did in no order) that I hope I will never forget.
*When you were 17months old and we lived in springfield court (your first home). I went to work and Daddy was minding you. He sent me a photo at work and a message to say “nearly lost her”. You decided to put on you’re jacket and hat, grabbed a dolly in her pram and went straight out the front door. P.S- This wouldn’t have happened on my watch.
*From the age of two we started to realise you were quite an emotional child. I dont think I could name one movie that you have not cried through. Monsters Inc- You cried when you thought they would never see boo again. Rugrats- You cried as Chuckie didn’t have a mammy. Toystory 3- You cried because the little boy went to college. Don’t get me started on Madeline- We had to burn that movie!
*When you were small you and Gearoid used to stay all day at Nanny Mags house. Gearoid was three at the time and you were two. You used to have quiet time on the couch in the afternoon. One couch each and a cosy blanket watching ‘Shaun the Sheep’. One quiet time, Nanny Mags got sick of you being lazy so she handed you your bottle and walked out of the room. When she came back a few minutes later you had moved on to Gearoids couch put a pillow on his lap, layed down and made him feed you the bottle. Still to this day- No one really knows what could have been said. It just goes to show that girls can manipulate- from a very early age.
*When you were four years old you watched the movie ‘Matilda’ (one of your favourites) this made you want to become a magician. You wanted to be a magician so badly that we pretty much let you abracadabra things all over the place. You would then say “See I am Magich”. One day while you were doing abracadabra. I took the coin from the bag while you twirled around. You were so happy and i was thrilled that I had given you your magician moment. Then you said “now I am going to magich it back!” Needless to say, your magician career ended.
*When you were two and a half you watched the movie ‘Tangled’ for the first time (it is still your favourite). We went food shopping in tesco one evening and as we walked down the toy aisle you asked me could you “borrow some money for a microphone”. I said “No” as it was your birthday soon to which you replied in song and with an angry tone… “Mother knows best… listen to your mother”. I tried very hard not to laugh at this.
*When you were three Littlelove Aoibhie-Faith was born you told the Nurses in CUMH that “her name is actually apunzel” and that “Mammy just forgot to write it down”.
*When you were almost three you told us that you would live with us forever that you would never leave us. When you were over three you told us that you would live with ‘Nana and Grandad in Austraya’. When you were five you said that you might live next door to us. When you were five and a half you said “I might stay living in Dubai, but dont worry- you can all come visit.” I see where this is going…
*When you were 2 you loved the song “Put a ring on it”- you used to shuffle by with no top on pretending to be beyonce.
*Everynight since you were a baby we have said our prayers together. It got a bit confusing when you were two. Your cousin Finn in Youghal is the very same age as you and the prayer started to get a bit hairy… “Hairy Mary full of grace the lord is with finn”… I am sure the Lord is blessed to be in Finns life and who really knows what Mary actually looked like? To this day sometimes we forget the ‘real’ words to this prayer.
*Just before we had your sister, we went on a little break away, just the three of us. Before we set off on our journey you had your last ballet class of the term. You came out of the class so happy and when we got into the car we asked you what the letter you had in your hand said. You read out the letter to us, “To Mams and Dads, Please go to bbc dot co dot uk slash cbeebies”. Myself and your daddy looked at one another and burst out loud laughing. P.S- You were banned from the TV that weekend.
Your poor Mammy is very emotional over how grown up you are now Littlelove.
