I had an incredible evening last night. Let me paint the picture for you.
Five mammy’s from Ireland, England, Scotland and Norway pulling up in black (coincidence) and wearing slippers (all class) to Chez Cass (the most fabulous cook) who was using us as guinea pigs (yay). Mrs Cass served up a starter of baked balsamic figs with goats cheese, cheesy biscuits. Followed by home made ricotta and spinach cannelloni with salad and garlic bread. Oh, you thought we couldn’t eat dessert? Well, how could we pass up on the most amazing chocolate almond tart ever to grace our presence. I will get her recipe and post it on the blog.
The chats and giggles never stop when we are all together. We should probably ask tena lady to sponsor us. I always walk away feeling so blessed and super inspired. One quote comes to mind. You know how I love a good quote…
Behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women who have her back!
Successful doesn’t have to be based on having a full-time job. After all the one thing we all have in common as expat mammy’s is the fact we have the hardest most rewarding job in the world. Here is where you thought I would get mushy I’m sure. I do LOVE a bit of mush, but no! This September was awful. We all had a dose of ‘Septemberitis’ – Your going to have to take my word for this one. Dubai was exceptionally hot and hideous. We where exceptionally moody. Our little loves where VILE (yes, I said that out loud) and id say our hubby’s are thankful their ‘Desert House Wives’ are slowly coming back to the land of normal just in time for spooky october. After all… We are Wonder Women!!!
Actress Lynda Carter, who played the original Wonder Woman, once said, “Wonder Woman belongs to us all. She lives inside us. She’s the symbol of the extraordinary possibilities that inhabit us, hidden though they may be. Perhaps our real challenge in the 21st century is to strive to reach our potential while embracing her values. She sees the good in everyone, convinced they are capable of change, compassion, and generosity. She’s kindhearted and hopeful, and she has a great sense of humor.”
This all got me thinking that woman just don’t lift woman up enough! I have friends who inspire me daily. From across the seas with phone calls, texts, Facebook and thank heavens for whatsapp! For the days I want a good giggle, I read a few of my favourite blogs.
