It’s here… It’s here!

That time of the year where we feel most at home. The assumption that us living in the sand pit, surrounded by people that want us to say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” is so far from the truth!

Lets abolish these views here and now! The Christmas cheer is at an all time high in the UAE. We are greeted with love and candy canes in so many places. Local women asking our Littleloves what they have asked from Santa. Letting them know that they will have to go to bed early Christmas Eve so they don’t miss out.

We have been to two Nativity shows already and have been so happy to see so many faces from all over the world rejoicing together. We truly feel blessed here. I think this Poem below sums up how we all feel. Have a read and let me know what you think in the comments below.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere we go
Right here in the Middle East its such a sight to see
Santa Claus, dancing elves, and mistle toe

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

you should come and see
Regardless of what some Americans say
We are happy in every way,
Shopping, wrapping presents and decorating Christmas trees

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Donald Trump is very wrong
We are living here with our Muslim friends
Harmony never ends
And the Republicans are such — ding-dongs

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Christ and Islam unite
We are enjoying the festive time
Chowing down on our holiday delight
as the Muslim eat their dates and we drink our wine

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Flipping the bird to Fox and Friends
We are setting our differences aside
Kandoras and abayas you shouldn’t hide
During this festive time we stand side-by-side

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Merry Christmas to our Muslim friends
We sing yalla habbi to one and all
Inshallah the ignorance will end
If we just — will open — our hearts!
