There is something really comforting about eating chips, sprinkled with salt or my preferred choice would be smothered in gravy as a snack at the end of a ladies night. Actually any night really who am I kidding?
I remember my Nana cooking chips out of a pan and lets face it- they where the best! Fluffy on the inside, crispy oily goodness on the outside (mouth watering) but over the years I guess we have realised how dangerous cooking this way is, not to mention how dangerous for you’re waiste line!
Luckily Phillips have come up with the answer. The Phillips Airfryer! The Airfryer was well packaged. Inside was an instruction pamphlet which was printed on recycled paper (very proactive) and their was a recipe book inside with so many recipes to attempt. Obviously there are so many wonderful dishes you could do in the Airfryer and even more helpful there is many listed on the Phillips Face Book page – so don’t limit yourself to what is in the recipe book. As they say the possibilities are endless!
The Philips Airfryer weighs only 7 kilos so it is a sturdy piece but also it looks quite trendy and I think would fit into any themed kitchen. The electrical cord measures 1m and there is cord storage if you do not need to use the full length of the lead. I must admit I love this idea, I wonder why they dont do this with lamps or anything else that cords end up making your home look tacky!
The airfryer uses rapid air technology which enables you to fry the tasty chips which contain up to 80% less fat than conventional fried chips. The chips still come out crispy like when you use a deep fat fryer but because of the minimum amount of oil used they are obviously much healthier for you.
The frying basket comes with a divider so you can Air fry two different foods at the same time, this certainly makes dinner time much faster in my house. Sweet potatoes on one side and normal french fry chips on the other (no fights) which is great!
The machine has a temperature control dial that goes up to 200 degrees and a 30 minute timer. When the time is up there is ‘ding’ noise and the airfryer automatically stops cooking so you’re food wont burn if you get distracted. I dont know how many times my husband has laughed at me when cooking food in the oven and screaming out, “I forgot again!” Kids are usually to hungry to argue and eat my burnt master pieces. They are thrilled to no end that this came to our door step!
My one hot tip would be to soak potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before popping them in to the Airfryer to give them a fluffier texture on the inside!
So far we have experimented with different ways to make chips, fish fingers and chicken skewers but I imagine in a months time – We will be PROS!
No more pots, no more pans – for me this is the best invention ever!
Love Helly xx
