12 weeks pregnant! I didn’t think I would hear myself saying it to be honest! It sounds weird saying it after so many years. Littlered will be 9 in November and Aoibhie will be 5 next month! Great things take time and it’s now time to shout it from the roof tops!
Here are some common questions I’ve been asked recently or since people have found out I’m pregnant:
How far along? 12 weeks
Size? A lime apparently – not certain from which country though. I feel like this lime maybe entering the guinness book of world records.
Weight gain: Funnily enough I gained lots of weight at first and then around 9 weeks I started getting sick (yay) and once that commenced food and fun stopped and the pregnancy diet commenced.
Maternity clothes? I haven’t really needed to hit this area yet. Living in Dubai is making it very easy to just wear floaty summer dresses and staple haviannas.
Stretch marks? I am literally smothering myself in Bio Oil and praying for the best! Littlered was a blessing and I can still recognize the one little line she gave me. All bets were off on Aoibhie – She destroyed me. So here is hoping this one is a little kinder.
Sleep: I am in bed for 8:30 most evenings lately and relaxed. The dreams have been insane though. So real feeling yet so awful. Think “The Fall” meets “13 reasons why” and you will have some idea of the running I am doing in my sleep.
Miss anything? I miss having energy and cooking (I know, I know ye don’t believe me). Honestly, the feeling of being off food is awful. I really do miss cooking and enjoying what I make.
Movement: No – not yet.
Food cravings: Different every day. I have realized that once I have had a craving. Ate that craving. I am done with that food for life. Ha.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Tea and Coffee – Can not go near either. Food in general. I am just going to enjoy the small amounts of what ever I fancy at the time.
Gender: I have a feeling it is another Girl. We have not asked to find out though.
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Acne, horrible dreams, food aversions and bizarely dry skin!
Belly button in or out? In!
Looking forward to: Feeling more alive again. Don’t get me wrong I am so thankful and obviously baby is thriving as I do not feel great at all. Just cannot wait to have a wee bit of energy back.
Favorite wardrobe piece to wear right now: Dresses. The ones that make you feel naked.
Pregnancy related Item I have loved this week: A new no wire bra from TKD. Honestly – Life changing!
1 thing I am currently having trouble with: The holiday we had to forfit! As most of you know by now the plan for July was ZANZIBAR and due to the vaccines you would have to take to go there… We decided to stay in the sandpit! So, I am counting down until November 1st when Dubai turns into a beautiful place to live!
1 moment I loved about this past week: Finally being able to tell our family and friends and My Little Loves readers the good news!
1 thing I plan to do for myself this week: I am in dire need of a mani/pedi. This will happen before the week is out. It must. I feel awful for the lady that gets my feet already.
1 thing my husband has been amazing at during this time: Totally cringe worthy but I would not have survived the last 12 weeks without him. Especially the last 5 weeks of Nausea/sickness, coping with the Dubai sauna summer and trying to keep my Little’s alive even though looking at food sends me to a toilet bowl for an hour.
Are you scared of childbirth? I think that part of pregnancy is so far away to even think about to be honest. I had two natural births before and I would love to have another the same way. All in Gods hands and timing!
How the Big Sisters reacted? We told Littlered first! She was beaming and to be honest kept asking Mr O was he “pranking her” and giving him grief that it wouldn’t be a funny joke! Our plan was to not let Aoibhie know until we told the rest of the world as she is the WORST secret keeper of all time! One evening on a staycation in Atlantis after Mr O had indulged in a few scoops in the pool bar – he told her. At the time he was delighted as she was full of questions and soooo happy. Reality hit the next day when we started bumping into people and Aoibhie was outing us all over Dubai! Note to Mr O: ALWAYS listen to your wife!!
Thank you for reading (if you got this far!) I’m excited to share my experience with you this pregnancy, and I’m even more excited to meet the bump!
Love, Helly x
