The westin is a hotel I have always wanted to stay in here in #mydubai as it is a favorite for so many. Views to the left of the wheel and to the right the burj alarab.
The Westin offers all-inclusive packages as well as half board deals and is the sort of place where you can have a dream getaway without ever actually leaving the hotel.
With so many restaurants, bars, a fitness center, a selection of pools, spa amenities, clean private beaches with turquoise waters and so much more that you would expect while staying at a five-star hotel. Honestly so much choice!

The Rooms…
The rooms have been newly renovated and are designed in a posh cream with gold detailing, it felt modern yet Arabic. We had an ocean view room with striking views of the sea and the city. Honestly it would be hard to find a more impressive window in Dubai. We got a family suite which was more than enough room for us all. It was two connecting large rooms and we couldn’t have been happier. I also loved that Fifi had a proper cot with cellular blankets and she slept really well for the weekend. The bathroom was gorgeous and featured a rainfall shower, soaking tubs and you can tell they put a lot of thought into the attention to detail.
Time to hit the Spa…
The heavenly Spa (I agree with the name) at the Westin had the most beautiful smell to it. I actually commented on it and my lovely therapist told me it was a scent made just for the Westin. Like a “feels like home” reminder – no matter which Westin hotel you arrive to around the world. Their spa offers all of your favorites like mani/pedis, body scrubs, massage and elemis facials. Once you are feeling zen, you can hit their relaxation room for a cup of peppermint tea and a well deserved snooze.

Let’s Eat!
There are so many restaurants to choose from and all requirements and cleanliness was of high standard. The staff in each restaurant from breakfast in Mina to lunch’s in Bounty Beets and poolside honestly couldn’t have been tastier and staff couldn’t have been more attentive. We had dinner at Sui Mui one night which is an Asian style restaurant and two nights we went to Bussola. Both we loved for different reasons but the ambience, decor, food and staff were all wonderful. Fish is on the beach and a lovely family spot as you can sit while your kids play in the sand and water. We will be back to try out El Sur for sure – We didn’t get the chance this time. Also worth mentioning – So many hotels have coffee, for coffee lovers is just not acceptable. Safe to say this is the first hotel I ever loved the coffee. This may be a small thing to some but for me it’s a big deal!
Let’s get physical…
I am not one to drag myself out of bed early on a holiday but Mr O is and he loved the fitness center which had gorgeous views and top quality gym equipment. There are many pools to choose from and the larger pools had many pockets of shaded areas as the trees are over grown and beautiful. A gorgeous clean beach that boasted amazing views. Major plus and points goes to the fact that every kids pool was shaded! Everyone will know by now my thoughts on skin and sun safety #kids4sail and honestly had I known it was such a safe hotel for children I would have booked many times previous to this stay. Another bonus was the water slide and lazy river which we also enjoyed.
Fun for kids…
The kids club was impressive with so many activities and a schedule given out to guests daily. It is connected to The Meridien which is another favorite for us. Kids 4-12 are allowed into the kids club. Due to Covid restrictions parents are not allowed to enter but the staff were lovely and my kids stole my phone to “give me a tour” or as Aoibhie said “a news report!” I have to give the hotel credit for making it fun for the children in times of Covid, face masks and so many regulations. The outside area is shaded too (happy dance) again – little things that make a difference. The manager Sam has a great energy about him, which we could tell the kids loved!
This is normally the part where I have something to say I would like changed?! I honestly have nothing to critic. It was incredible. Parents going with littles that are in buggy’s I would request the 1st floor as it will have you walking directly out to beach/pool etc. If you have children and are staying on a Friday – perhaps request a room away from brunch if your baby needs a nap in the day – but it is all run so smoothly by 6pm you won’t even know Brunch happened!
It exceeded all our hopes for a lovely hotel experience and we will 100% be back for water slide races, the incredible kids club, a massage for Mammy and to watch the sun go down on in Dubai. It was hard to find a reason to leave the hotel and the picture below sums up how much are littles didn’t want to leave…

Social distancing meant the hotel was lovely and quiet. The hotel itself was immaculate and It felt peaceful. We felt like we had been out of the country for a week – That relaxed!Highly recommend and worthy of checking out the deals for half term break.
